Allán vasquez-lopez

Musician, composer, and storyteller Allán (ay-YAHN) Vasquez-Lopez (they/them/elle) thrives on examining the point where art music and folk music meet via composition, through a queer Latinx lens.  Allán has received an Associate degree in Applied Music, Composition from Santa Monica College as well as a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Composition, with a minor in Music Theory, from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Allán is a newer member of Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles, the world’s first LGBTQ+ mariachi, as well as a member of Chordas, a new vocal and electronics collective based in LA.

In addition to performing as a vocalist and budding technologist for Chordas Collective, Allán manages the content and media which includes managing Chordas’ social media accounts as well as updating the lovely website you see right before your very eyes.
